An expansive field of golden sand dunes located west of Djanet.
Erg Admer is a significant sand dune formation in southeastern Algeria, stretching approximately 100 kilometers in length. Situated within the Tassili n’Ajjer region, the area is characterized by shifting dunes that change color throughout the day. The site is also notable for the “Weeping Cow” (La Vache qui Pleure), a Neolithic rock engraving located on its eastern periphery, which highlights the area’s ancient history as a habitable landscape before it transitioned into the arid desert terrain seen today.
